CiteScore Badge API
The CiteScore badge API returns an SVG badge for a journal ISSN.
Badge URL
Use the ISSN after /citescore/:
https://bib2cv.com/citescore/25741284
The ISSN may also be passed to the PHP endpoint:
https://bib2cv.com/citescore/index.php?issn=25741284&format=svg
The ISSN must contain eight characters. Hyphens are accepted, for example 1082-989X.
Embed In HTML
For the fastest and most compatible embedding, use an image:
<img
src="https://bib2cv.com/citescore/25741284">
The above code will generate an SVG badge with the CiteScore of the journal with ISSN 2574-1284 like below:
An SVG loaded by <img> cannot contain a clickable link. To make the badge clickable, wrap the image in an HTML link:
<a href="https://bib2cv.com/citescore/info.php?issn=25741284">
<img
src="https://bib2cv.com/citescore/25741284"
alt="CiteScore details"
width="125"
height="20">
</a>
Interactive SVG Embedding
Use <object> when the SVG itself must contain the link:
<object
data="https://bib2cv.com/citescore/25741284"
type="image/svg+xml"
width="125"
height="20">
</object>
<object> loads the SVG as a separate document and may be slower than <img>. The generated SVG links to the journal information page.
The generated badge looks like this:
Journal Information
Open the details page with:
https://bib2cv.com/citescore/info.php?issn=25741284
The page displays the journal title, CiteScore, SNIP, and SJR stored for the ISSN.
Response Behavior
- Successful requests return an SVG badge with HTTP status
200. - Invalid ISSNs return HTTP status
400. - Database or Scopus API failures return an error status and an error badge when SVG output is requested.
- CiteScore data is read from the database and refreshed from Scopus when the cached year is out of date or the journal title is missing.
